Muscle Tee Week ft…. Skirts!

See! I told you I was moving on from mixing muscle tees with trousers! And what a fabulous day that has brought indeed. I really can’t say enough about the versatility of these things.  And from the top set above, I can’t help but just gawk over the middle outfit. It’s the skirt. The outfit all together is so appealing to me and it may be that it’s on the verge of tacky ( maybe? :D), or that the skirt just alludes to the 90s but I love it either way. I will note that I’m not too fond of the glitter toe on the shoe for this look, but I couldn’t find another replicate sans glitter.
The bottom set, for me is like striking gold. Can you imagine looking so glamorous with the comfort of a t-shirt tank? And a muscle-tee at that? Now let’s all just be honest here and agree that when saying ‘muscle-tee’ we never associate it with glam. That’s what makes this outfit so great. Let’s raise the roof.

Muscle Tee Week Day 2

So these are going to be the final sets of Muscle Tee shirts that are paired with trousers…promise! Obviously the look is pretty easy to do, and it’s really fun to dress up a basic muscle tee with some funky printed bottoms. But can we get away from the easy veratility of muscle tees for a minute to discuss those flats..I love them!

Muscle Tee Week

Untitled #3

So…I think I’m going to profess this week as Muscle Tee week. This is my second outfit made with one (though the previous set posted could pass off as just a regular tank) and I can’t get anough of them. I have a couple more saved in drafts for me to work with and I think I’ll just go ahead and make it a theme this week.

I think this is probably one of my favorite sets so far (because I’ve done so many, right?) I just feel like it has both class and attitude and who doesnt wan’t that in an outfit? Plus, it really does cater to the laziness syndrome I’ve been having lately (well, atleast the tee does).

There’s just something about muscle tees that make me feel like even though they are supposed to be really casual and carefree, they seem way more put together than just a regular scoop neck tank. Maybe its the extra skin that they allow to peek through that I find to be so flattering, but they are just perfect in my mind right now.

They also seem to work perfectly with nice trousers. Usually if I’m thinking of going casual, I feel uncomfortable if I don’t have SOMETHING on that’s more clean cut, whether it be jewelry or the bottoms I’m wearing. Wearing muscle tees with loose trousers like the ones shown above is like decieving people into thinking you put a lot of thought into what you’re wearing when really you are as comfortable as the next person who threw something on. It’s just great.

Knee High comfort

So this set was made with the idea of having to run errands while feeling incredibly lazy. I think the tucked in shirt and the loafers give it a clean look, but I don’t think the outfit in it’s entirety would be too fussy at all.

Laziness when it comes to getting dressed has been probably the number one adjective to describe my mood anytime I have to leave the house lately. Why is that? I know I’m not the only one who gets ready with that mindset but it’s just so funny to me. I used to put so much effort into looking nice when going to school, and then you fast forward to me now where I just throw on a maxi and some flip flops and I’m out the door.
I guess it could be worse. I could be going out in cartooned pajama pants and a tank while grocery shopping.

Polyvore. Have you used it lately? Or ever?

I’ll be the first to admit that the idea of it seemed a little…cliche? It seemed that if you were into fashion and were in tune with it’s relationship with the online world, that you most likely sat around making polyvore sets with nothing else better to do. (Farfetched?)

Well (my?) stereotypes aside, I decided to finally utilize the website in its entirety and figured I would make my very own first set. My respect for this portion of the website thoroughly increased. First off, though I do not see myself creating sets with all of those fancy backgrounds and inspiration collages any time…ever…I will say that that crap takes A LOT of work. I initially thought that it was kind of silly (just being honest here..) to go through all that business just to accompany your outfit set, but they do create a really complete inside look into what the user was inspired by, which is kind of cool. Second, there have been times where I have fantasize about the wonderful things I could create if my closet was a tad bit bigger. Unfortunately, I would then be awoken by the fact that I, like most, do not have the funds to continuously feed my closet with amazing pieces to aid every expressive impulse. This website does that. The only downside is that you may not be able to wear it, BUT just the journey of selecting items and changing concepts in your head with the endless amount of options they have almost equally meets that quench for expression.

Basically, though I may be real late to the game here, this website seems to be a really good option for exploring different ideas and styles you’ve never ventured into before for free and with an endless online closet. Awesome.
